Explore 15 miles of rain forest trails. Sandoval Lake Lodge is the only lodge in the Puerto Maldonado and Tambopata areas that is situated on a lake and thus gives you instant access to lake wildlife during the cool, golden-light hours just after dawn and just before dusk. These hours are the best for photography of lake scenery while the wildlife is most visible, active, and photogenic.
The rain forest comes alive at night with 40 species of frogs, 90 species of bats, 70 species of large katydids, 4 species of cats: Jaguar, Puma, Ocelot, and Margay.
