GOLF IN LIMA

Lima is rather sedate after all the aforementioned courses have been exhausted by the avid golfer looking for something he can’t get back in Palm Springs or Pebble Beach.
There are four 18 hole courses in the area including Lima Golf Club, Los Inkas Golf, La Planicie Country Club, and Club Villa on the Pacific ocean. There are also two good 9 hole courses along the Rimac river valley and the Andes foothills towards the always sunny Chaclacayo: Los Andes Golf Club in Huachipa and La Granja Azul Golf in Santa Clara.

Lima Golf Club

Lima Golf Club is the oldest club in Lima and was founded in 1923. Its first president was manager of the central railway. Rather impatient with the tardiness of a contractor hired to build the first clubhouse, he ordered a copy of blueprints of one of his railway stations, and a faithful replica was soon erected, which served as Lima Golf's first clubhouse. It is located in San Isidro, Lima, and the activities are fundamentally oriented to practicing golf. It is one of the most important and traditional golf clubs in Peru. The golf course, inaugurated in May, 1924, is one of the oldest in the Pacific Circuit. Currently it is surrounded by modern apartment complexes, many of them among the most luxurious in the city.
It has an 18-hole golf course, par 72, built over 48.5 hectares, which hosts many prestigious national and international tournaments.

Los Inkas Golf Club

Los Inkas Golf Club is just outside the city in the foothills of the Andes and was built in 1945, just after World War II. It features pre-Inca ruins on the course, and after rare squirrels broke out of the cages belonging to the defunct president of the World Wildlife Fund who resided at the foot of the course, the area is now populated with squirrels, many of them albinos. The club promotes golf as well as other sports, it has created some of the best professionals in multiple activities and served its associates and visitors with one of the best golf infrastructures in all of South America. Not only fostering the sport of golf, but also the golf culture for adults and their children, forming golfers from a young age with their school of golf, and collaborating with the highest educational, cultural and social values. Rental service available for clubs, trolleys, buggies and the driving range.
Its challenging 18 holes, par 72 golf course is perhaps the most spectacular in the country.

Los Inkas Golf Club

La Planicie Country Club is located in one of the most exclusive residential areas in Lima, characterized by having an exceptional climate. The principle sports played here are golf, tennis, racquetball and squash. Additionally, they have golf, tennis and squash academies, led by first level professionals. They also offer excellent bar and restaurant services.
Surrounded by desert, where you will only find cacti and tumbleweeds, the contrast of color and environment with the intense green of the golf course is spectacular. The 18-hole golf course is par 72 and can be described as challenging. This particular course is recognized nationally and internationally as one of the best courses in Peru. 9 of the 18 holes are above the Club House, and the other 9 below it. The maximum altitude difference is 80 meters between tee-off points for holes 7 and 12, which means players need a high level of technical as well as physical endurance.
The golf course also has a lighted practice green, 2 putting greens, a green and bunker practice zone, as well as pools and other sport zones. The sprinkler system on the course is automatic.
The club is home to national and international tournaments; in 2003 the International Seniors Tournament was held here.

Los Inkas Golf Club

Villa Country Club was founded July 12th, 1957. It has two modern locations, one in Chorrillos and another in Chosica, both equipped with comfortable and spacious areas and optimal services.
The 18-hole, par 72 golf course covers an area of 70 hectares and is enclosed within the Ecological Sanctuary of Los Pantanos de Villa. The club also has tennis courts, racquetball and squash courts, soccer fields and a shooting range, a sauna, gym, pools and a modern Sport Center with aerobics and spinning rooms, as well as a heated pool. The restaurants and bars offer a delightful menu, as well as national and international drinks.

Los Inkas Golf Club

Los Andes Golf Club. Located in Huachipa and surrounded by the Andes foothills east of Lima, enjoys sun and good weather all over the year.
Opened 1969, the unique 9-hole course, which is played twice over with different finales, was intentionally designed to attain an interesting game for the associates in a smaller space.
It has a comfortable driving range and putting green for those who wish to practice, as well as a “19th hole”, where you can relax and enjoy a new dining experience or a drink at the end of the day.

Granja Azul Country Club de Golf. Located in Santa Clara and surrounded by the Andes foothills east of Lima, enjoys sun and good weather all over the year. It is fundamentally oriented to practicing golf.
It has a well kept 9-hole golf course (par 72 in two rounds), a driving range and putting green, as well as dressing rooms, a restaurant and bar.
