Bolivia is also a golfer's paradise. There are very good golf courses in La Paz and in Santa Cruz, and there is a unique golf course built on a salt lake near Uyuni. Tiahuanaku is the most important Pre-Columbian archaeological site in Bolivia. Tiwanaku is recognized by Andean scholars as one of the most important precursors to the Inca Empire, flourishing as the ritual and administrative capital of a major state power for approximately five hundred years. The ruins of the ancient city state are near the south-eastern shore of Lake Titicaca, about 72 km (44 miles) west of La Paz.
Lake Titicaca sits 3,812 m (12,507 feet) above sea level making it the highest commercially navigable lake in the world. By volume of water it is also the largest lake in South America.The lake is located at the northern end of the Altiplano basin high in the Andes on the border of Peru and Bolivia. The western part of the lake lies within the Puno Region of Peru, and the eastern side is located in the Bolivian La Paz Department. Salar de Uyuni is the world's largest salt flat at 10,582 km² (4,085 square miles). It is located in the Potosí and Oruro departments in southwest Bolivia, near the crest of the Andes, 3,650 meters high.

Golf in La Paz
La Paz Golf Club. The Golf Club was founded in 1912, It is a privilege to enjoy a grass field of 18 holes, being the highest in the world with par 72 at 3.318 m and 6.851 yards. Hole 12 is called “Lunar” (or “Moon like”) due to its proximity to the amazing “Moon Valley” and the great erosion surrounding it, a par 3 quoted as one of the most attractive and difficult in South America, according to the Golf Digest magazine. The club has driving range, 2 putting greens, Pro Shop, golf equipment rental, golf school and caddies.

Santa Cruz is the second largest city of Bolivia, with a pleasant tropical weather, many 5 star hotels at your choice and nice entertainment places in the city.
Las Palmas Country and Golf Club is a private club, located only 10 min from downtown. It has an 18 hole, par 72 golf course, caddies service, tennis yards, playing room, gym and restaurants with excellent international cuisine.

The international golf designer, Christian Pensu builds the first and unique 100% salt-made golf course in the world at 3693 meters above sea level, in the surroundings of the famous Palacio de Sal Lodge, chosen among the most unusual of the world, at the shores of the Uyuni Salt Flat, and catalogued by the Rough Rides magazine as the first tourist marvel of the world.
It is a 9 par 3 holes golf course on a salt lake: there are tees, fairways, “greens” and salt pyramids as astonishing hazards. Caddies are available.
Lodging facilities are provided in the nearby “Palacio de Sal”, again an astonishing lodge built on salt blocks.
